According to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), on November 5, 2019, the Ukrainian Ministry of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs informed the OIE that an African swine fever had occurred in a region of northwestern Ukraine .
The epidemic was confirmed on November 4. The outbreak occurred in the town of Potashnia, Rado Mesli, Zhtomir.
After laboratory tests, two wild boars died and the source of the epidemic was unknown. The epidemic is still continuing and the Ukrainian Ministry of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs will submit a weekly follow-up report.
